Kind Initiative for Development (KIND-UG)
Kind Initiative for Development-Uganda (KIND-Ug) is an indigenous Non-governmental organization working with rural communities in Rwenzori region in mid-western Uganda. The organization was founded in 2005 with the overall aim of “improving the livelihoods of the rural people” with a focus on promoting good governance, fundamental human rights, and agricultural production, fighting the impact and spread HIV/AIDS, and supporting disadvantaged and poverty stricken households including the disabled, women, orphaned vulnerable children (OVC), and other marginalized community groups.
Project title: Enhancing citizens' engagement in planning, budgetting, decision making and accountability processes for improved service delivery in education, health, agriculture and youth livelihood programs.
Project description: The project aims to strengthen capacity of citizens, local leaders and community structures to effectively participate, monitor and engage for accountability in health, education, agriculture and youth livelihoods programs. The project will promote a proactive approach to accountability challenges and focus on engagements with duty bearers, and create vigilance among citizens for effective service delivery.
Geographical coverage: Kyenjojo, Kyegegwa, Kamwenge, Ntoroko and Bundibugyo districts.
