Centre for Women in Governance (CEWIGO)
The Centre for Women in Governance (CEWIGO) is a nonpartisan, not for profit, and non-governmental organization established in 2006 in Uganda, committed to the promotion of effective and equal participation of women and men in all spheres and at all levels of decision making.
Project title: Creating an enabling environment for increased rerpresentation and effective participation of women councillors in decision making processes.
Project description: The project seeks to empower women and female youth councillors to effectively participate in decision making and political ledership as well as mentor and train women interested in seeking political/elective positons at sub-county level.
Geographical coverage: Mbarara, Bushenyi, Buhweju, Hoima, Masindi, Kween, Kapchorwa, Kampala and Jinja districts.
