Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA)
Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA) is a feminist-Pan-African leadership development organization that was founded in 1985 by a group of visionary African women. AMwA’s work is rooted in feminist principles and beliefs guided by the Charter of Feminist Principles for African Feminists which defines the organisation’s leadership development programme and movement building activities.
Project Title: Strengthening women's leadership and influence in political processes in Uganda
Brief Description: This project seeks to strengthen women’s leadership, participation and influence in political processes in order to advance gender equality, women’s rights and inclusive governance in Uganda. The project’s ultimate aim is to change the underlying causes of women’s marginalisation in decision making through strengthening women leaders’ voices.
